Power Star Srinivasan’s powerful torture with ‘photo’ continues unabated

Remember ‘power star’ Srinivasan who tormented movie-goers by playing the lead role in last year’s Lathika? The film, which hardly created any flutter at the box-office, was shown as a ‘successful film’ mainly because of Srinivasan’s cheap marketing efforts. The 50-plus actor says he’s determined to make it big in films as an actor despite the fact that he possesses neither the talent nor the looks to achieve his objective.

The least said about Lathika the better would it be for the readers’ peace of mind. Not the one to rest on his ‘laurels’, Srinivasan is presently busy with the making of his upcoming film Anandhathollai and a few more films. Knowing very well that no producer in his right mind would cast him as the hero, Srinivasan produces the(se) film(s) under his own banner.

For the past few days, though, our ‘power star’ appears to be walking on the Moon. His happiness seems to stem through a photograph in his possession. When asked to reveal what’s in the photograph, Srinivasan blushes with a smile which would surely make a wild animal go envy with jealous. Finally, he hands over the photograph which has him grinning from ear to ear along with ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan.

Ask him as to how he managed to feature himself in a photograph with Kamal and he gets going. “I took part at the recent dance recital by the daughter of Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee. Kamal Haasan was seated in the front row and enjoyed the programme. When he was about to leave the venue, I approached him and introduced myself. I then requested him to pose with me to which he readily agreed.

‘Power star’ tells everyone who bothers to listen to him that this particular photograph is easily the ‘most valuable treasure’ he has at this present juncture in his life!
